Program Description
The Early Childhood Education, Associate in Arts degree is designed to prepare students for a bacalareate degree while meeting the required educational qualifications to become a group teacher in early childhood centers licensed by the New Jersey Department of Human Services/Division of Youth and Family Services (DYFS). Students will learn in a supportive
environment how to design and apply developmentally appropriate activities for children ages birth to 8 years through foundational course work, along with internships in early childhood settings that include child care centers, Head Start Programs, family childcare homes, and public and private schools. Students will enhance their knowledge and skills as early
childhood educators while learning to work more effectively with other professionals, families and community members.
